Job Description

THE POSITION

Based in Overland Park, the Manager, Accounts Receivable will be responsible for a managing the invoicing and cash application teams including ensuring daily and monthly metrics which contribute to the company’s overall DSO. 

The Manager, Accounts Receivable plays a key role at A Place for Mom by ensuring accuracy in our invoicing and posting records, daily bank reconciliations, and effectively supervising staff engaged in similar activities while adhering to our company values.

Who you are:

The ideal candidate is familiar with all accounting procedures and can manage daily financial transactions end-to-end. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout our entire accounts receivable process.

What you will do:

• Obtain revenue by processing invoices, resolving missed payments, updating financial records, and effectively supervising staff engaged in similar activities.
• Set objectives for the account receivable team that align with the accounting department’s goals
• Maintains accounting ledgers by balancing daily batches and bank records.
• Identify and reconcile discrepancies
• Streamline processes to increase organizational efficiency.
• Maintains financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls.
• Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures that comply with the law
• Ensure all team members follow the accounting principles
• Stay updated on industry and legislative changes
• Work across multiple internal teams including Collections and Dispute Resolutions to resolve issues and drive customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field strongly preferred
• Five years of experience in accounts receivable, including supervisory roles
• Strong organizational, communications, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with standard accounting and administrative software, such as Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent time and project management skills

Compensation:

• Base Salary Range - $67k - $85k
• Yearly Bonus: 20% of base
