Previous frontline leadership & Level 1 Trauma Center experience.

ACLS/PALS/TNCC/ECRN

CEN/CPEN/TCRN a plus

Flexible weekday schedule: 5x 8-hour shifts or 4x 10-hour shifts (prefer 0600 start time)

Primary responsibilities=staffing, scheduling, coaching, mentoring, safety, staff engagement, & all quality initiatives.

Pay Range

$43.30 - $64.95

Major Responsibilities: Clinical Excellence 1)Collaborates with the Emergency Services Leadership Team as to ensure departmental practices and outcomes are compliant with IDPH, DNV, EMSC, and other licensing/accrediting bodies and agencies. 2)Participate in the continuous development and implementation of unit based quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Emergency Department Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist. Encourage and facilitate staff participation in Unit Based Shared Governance, as to foster optimal nursing clinical quality and performance improvement. 3)Collaborate with the ED Nurse Manager, Medical Director and ED Clinical Nurse Specialist to evaluate quality and appropriateness of care delivered. Contribute to the development and implementation of action plans, collect and analyze data, and makes adjustments to achieve desired outcomes. 4)Collaborate with the ED Nurse Manager and ED Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure all associates are compliant with established care delivery and practices. Promote evidenced-based practice by utilizing clinical guidelines and procedures currently in the literature. 5)In partnership with ED Nurse Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist, foster and facilitate a climate conducive to educational experiences for associates and encourage staff to seek additional knowledge and skill by pursing formal education, certification, and professional development. 6)Participate in the development and implementation of annual competency education with the Emergency Services Leadership Team. Provide formal and informal education to staff in conjunction with accrediting requirements based on needs of clinical staff, as to enhance nursing knowledge and the advancement of nursing practice. 7)Autonomously monitor individual performance of staff regarding quality initiatives, Behaviors of Excellence as to contribute to annual performance evaluations. 8)Participate in interviewing, hiring, and competency assessment of staff in conjunction with the ED Nurse Manager and ED Clinical Nurse Specialist. Patient Satisfaction 1)Serve as a role model in providing optimal patient experiences, demonstrates supportive communication styles and techniques based on individual patient and family needs, and utilizes positive behaviors /interventions in addressing patient and family concerns. 2)Perform rounding on patients utilizing key words and questions as to assess patients' perception of the hospital experience, to provide leadership to clinical staff regarding patient engagement and loyalty, and monitor individual associate performance and effectiveness specific to patient engagement. 3)Responsible for first line Service Recovery of patient, family and physician complaints, continued follow through in conjunction with ED Nurse Manager. Communicate unresolved issues to ED Nurse Manager, and other unit managers and leadership team members as appropriate. 4)Review patient satisfaction scores and patient experience feedback as to assist the ED Nurse Manager and CNS identify trends and develop action plans focused on building loyal patient relationships, and maintaining top decile ED Patient Satisfaction goals. 5)Collaborate with Manager and Charge Nurses on processes to improve patient satisfaction. 6)Actively rounds the physical ED environment as to evaluate and support it's readiness for providing positive patient experiences, engages and delegates to staff accordingly to meet readiness. Associate Engagement 2)Provide direct supervision of associates and accept accountability for services provided on the unit. Provide feedback and coaching to associates as to ensure optimal clinical and enterprise outcomes. 3)Consistently round on associates as to role model the Behaviors of Excellence, monitor morale, follow up on organizational initiatives, and improve associate retention.
