Job Duties

Chief Objective:

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and reporting on IT projects and initiatives to ensure predictable delivery, transparency, and alignment with agency priorities. This role provides disciplined project management practices across IT while enabling technical and business leaders to retain ownership of scope, decisions, and outcomes.

This position functions as a neutral facilitator and integrator, supporting delivery across infrastructure, application, and end-user service domains without direct supervisory authority.

Work Tasks and Duties:

Project Intake, Planning, and Coordination
• Coordinate intake of IT project requests in alignment with CIO priorities and governance processes.
• Assist in defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and dependencies in collaboration with IT directors and business stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation.

Execution Tracking and Reporting
• Track project progress, milestones, risks, and issues across IT initiatives.
• Identify schedule risks, resource constraints, and dependencies and escalate appropriately.
• Prepare regular status reports and dashboards for IT leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure project information is accurate, current, and transparent.

Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management
• Facilitate identification and documentation of project risks and mitigation strategies.
• Track issues and coordinate resolution with appropriate technical teams.
• Monitor cross-project dependencies and highlight potential conflicts.

Stakeholder Communication
• Serve as a central point of coordination for project communications.
• Facilitate project meetings, working sessions, and status updates.
• Support clear communication between IT teams and business stakeholders.

Standards, Governance, and Continuous Improvement
• Apply established project management standards and methodologies consistently.
• Support post-implementation reviews and lessons-learned activities.
• Recommend improvements to project management practices and tools.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Ability to coordinate work across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and delivery issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Considerations

Project Management Professional (PMP), CAPM, or equivalent project management
