PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Hiring Salary: $53,037 - $66,297/year

OVERVIEW OF JOB

The Project Coordinator (Project Controls) is responsible for monitoring and performing analytics on the Utilities’ Capital Improvement Program. The project coordinator also interacts with Water finance and planning and engineering team, assists with the overall capital program planning, resourcing, analysis, and estimating under the supervision of the Project Delivery Manager of the Project Delivery Services Division.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the Planning and Engineering (P&E) division workload document by creating individual and consolidated project schedules.
  • Update the PM workload monthly by coordinating with the PMs with regards to milestone progress and collect the project spend information from finance
  • Assist in review of capital and financial data to assist in annual budgeting process including any reporting required to understand capital project statuses.
  • Assist in creating reports on workload allocation and create schedules for annual project efforts.
  • Maintain accurate data in project database system which includes general project data, estimated and actual project costs, and change order information.
  • Maintain the Projectmates software and assist in teaching others and troubleshooting the system
  • Serve as operational advocate for the continued and procedural use of installed project management tools.
  • Advocate and review accurate record keeping within project management system(s)
  • Use collected project information to provide reports to Project Delivery Services (PDS) and other water divisions regarding project information
  • Collect, maintain, understand, and summarize historic project pricing information that may be used to review submitted cost estimates from developers and engineers or provide planning level (Class 5) estimates for future project planning
  • Compile additional operational reports as requested including project, personnel resource, and fiscal data
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Education: 

  • Associate’s degree in construction management, project management, information Systems or related field.

Experience: 

  • 1 year of experience in planning and executing projects.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Driver's license with a good driving history

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of scheduling and resource management including cost loading of schedules
  • Understanding of principals of project planning, management and budgeting
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Knowledge of construction estimating
