Job Description
The salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 and relocation is available if required.
This position is located on the IU South Bend (IUSB) Campus in South Bend, Indiana. It is a mobile role (requires primarily regional travel to meet with donors/friends of the University, with a mix of on-campus and remote work when not traveling.)
IU South Bend is our region’s only comprehensive, public University. In 1967, IU South Bend conferred its first degrees. Since then, campus has grown to approximately 4,500 students, offering nearly 100 degree programs, six varsity sports teams, campus housing, study abroad programs, and extensive career services to foster students and catapult them into their career. More than 70% of IUSB students receive scholarships or financial aid to help make college possible. IU South Bend alumni serve as teachers and principals in our local schools, IT and business professionals who help drive our local economy, and public servants, social workers, health care professionals, and community leaders making a difference in the lives of our community members every day. The IU Foundation is seeking a new Director of Development to capture the energy and progress on campus and deliver that message to donors and friends of the University. This role reports to the AVP of Development, Regional Campuses-IU Foundation, with a dotted line to the Vice Chancellor for University Relations and Advancement, and in close partnership with the Chancellor of IU South Bend. Additionally, this role supervises a Development Officer at IUSB. You will serve as an expert and lead development professional on campus. We’re seeking a true, intentional collaborator: someone who is excited to get to know the students, faculty, administration, and community, and be an engaged contributor who brings people together to foster success at IUSB.
Fundraising for the future of IUSB may be your primary responsibility in this role, but success is dependent on a collective effort. Being a leader who can curate a culture of philanthropy by building bridges from donors, alumni, and friends of the University to the IUSB campus community is essential. You’ll have the partnership of peers in Advancement, Alumni Relations, and Communications, and Marketing, as well as faculty, staff, and students across the campus. You will secure funds for scholarships, health and wellness, wraparound retention support programs, facility improvements, athletic programs, and more.
