Pay Type: Salaried Status: Exempt Salary Range: $190,000 - $260,000 (based on experience) Hours: Full-Time; Flexible Schedule

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provides comprehensive primary care services in a community health center - ambulatory clinic setting.
• Works independently using his/her best professional judgement while practicing medicine within his/her scope of practice.
• Renders care following recognized standards of care and evidence-based guidelines.
• Assesses patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic imaging, and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service.
• Provides patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow- up as appropriate.
• Performs minor outpatient procedures and ambulatory treatments and diagnostics in accordance with approved privileges.
• Responsible for accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records in accordance with HHS policy.
• Provides consultation to other clinic providers either in person or by telephone.
• Provides supervision and maintains a Collaborative Practice Agreement with HHS Nurse Practitioners, as needed.
• Participates in shared “call” system with other providers, on a rotational basis, to provide continuous coverage for HHS patients on a 24/7 basis.
• Participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities and initiatives. Utilizes reports from HHS QA/QI/RM monitoring of clinical quality measures to provide leadership for continuous quality improvement on the practice team.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree
• Proof of successful completion of a residency training program at an accredited healthcare institution
• Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
• Current, valid, unrestricted DEA license
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Three years of primary care experience preferred
