Senior Accountant

The Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing the accounting processes and financial close cycles for ELG Canada Inc. and ELG Metals Corp. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can maintain accurate records, prepare journal entries, and assist with various financial analyses and reporting.
Main tasks :
- Responsible for the tracking of ELG Canada shipments, Forex Contracts etc
- Review and monitoring of local accounting systems - Inventory / Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
- Assist Finance team as needed with wire/ACH processes
- Assist Controller with special projects, business evaluations, system implementation as requested/directed
- Monitoring Capital expenditures and Capital projects
- Assist with Hermes credit insurance reporting
- Sales & Use tax reporting
- Track intercompany loan activity
- Review and approve weekly ELG Canada wires
- Other duties as needed
Month End Closing:
- Prepare and post journal entries in conjunction with the month-end close process
- Review all financial account reconciliations to ensure their timely completion and agreement with the general ledger and supporting ledgers.
- Assist Controller in review of financial statements
- Tagetik reporting, analysis and review
- Supplemental and ancillary analysis and reporting
- Capital Expenditure Status reporting
Quarterly reporting:
- Account reconciliations
- Tagetik reporting, analysis and review
Annual reporting:
- Account reconciliations
- Assist with annual audit
Forecasts and Budgets:
- Assist with the preparation and review of Budgets/Forecast.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- PC skills including Windows, Excel, Google Sheets (Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and Tagetik skills are a plus)
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Dynamic 365 experience a plus
