We’re hiring a Service Assistant I – a vital utility kitchen worker who ensures our hospital kitchen runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to be part of a compassionate team that supports patient care through cleanliness, organization, and teamwork.

🔧 What You’ll Do:

As a utility kitchen worker, you’ll be responsible for:

• Operating dishwashing and sanitation equipment to clean trays, utensils, and cookware
• Maintaining a clean and organized dish room and pot washing area
• Safely handling cleaning chemicals and following infection prevention protocols
• Removing trash, disposing of cardboard, and keeping work areas tidy
• Supporting kitchen operations with tasks like mopping, restocking, and equipment care
• Upholding ChristianaCare’s values of Love and Excellence in every interaction

🕒 Schedule:

• Varied shifts between 5:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• Includes every other weekend and holiday rotations
• Must be available for a mix of the following shifts:
  • 5:30 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
  • 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

✅ What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma or currently enrolled (preferred)
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
• Able to lift and walk with up to 30 lbs
• Must pass a physical exam and meet safety standards

💪 Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
• Exposure to hot/cold temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and infectious materials
