Pay range:

$25.93 - $35.88

As delegated and supervised by healthcare practitioners and under the administrative direction of the Clinic Manager and Supervisor, provide patient care to assigned patients.  Patient care is limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledge.  Healthcare practitioner delegation and direction must be for functions within the scope of the medical assistant-certified (MA-C) and the medical assistant must be able to safely and competently perform the function.  Medical Assistants may not accept delegation of acts that are not within his or her scope of practice.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six months experience working as a Medical Assistant-Registered or Nursing Assistant-Certified is required.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification required.
• An applicant for a medical assistant-registered credential who applies to the department within seven days of employment by the endorsing health care practitioner, clinic, or group practice may work as a medical assistant-registered for up to 60 days while the application is processed. The applicant must stop working on the 60th day of employment if the registration has not been granted for any reason. WAC 246-827-0320. The medical assistant-registered credential terminates when the MA-R separates employment with the endorsing healthcare practitioner, clinic or group practice.
