About the role

Company Description

It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.

We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.

The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.

If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Job Description

Job Description

Intuitive Ventures is seeking a driven and intellectually curious investment professional to join our team as an Investor. This role sits at the heart of our deal-making engine — sourcing compelling opportunities, leading rigorous due diligence, managing portfolio relationships, and contributing to the fund's evolving investment thesis.

Candidates will be evaluated and placed at the appropriate level based on experience, demonstrated track record, and scope of prior responsibility. Both levels require a hands-on operator with strong analytical instincts, a developing network, and the drive to build proprietary deal flow.

Key Responsibilities

Due Diligence & Investment Committee

  • Lead specific due diligence workstreams including market sizing, customer references, GLG calls, and financial modeling
  • Draft high-quality investment memos for senior review and IC preparation; own deal mechanics from term sheet through close (P5)
  • Coordinate legal and technical reviews under partner guidance; synthesize findings across workstreams

Pipeline & Deal Sourcing

  • Independently source and qualify early-stage investment opportunities through outreach and ecosystem engagement
  • Maintain and update the deal pipeline database; conduct initial outreach to founders and screen inbound deals against fund criteria
  • Lead initial founder meetings and make prioritization recommendations
  • Proactively develop co-investor and ecosystem partner relationships

Portfolio Management

  • Serve as day-to-day point of contact for assigned portfolio companies; track key milestones and flag material risks to the senior team
  • Coordinate introductions between portfolio companies and internal business units and external networks
  • Support founders on introductions, recruiting, business development, and resource access
  • Escalate risks proactively and track performance against board-approved milestones

Strategic Landscape & Thesis Development

  • Develop sector overviews, competitive landscape maps, and market intelligence across assigned focus areas
  • Present landscape findings to the broader investment team on a regular cadence
  • Produce detailed landscape analyses that inform new investments and portfolio strategy

Conferences, Competitive Intelligence & Reporting

  • Attend relevant industry conferences; build foundational network and identify emerging companies
  • Maintain competitive intelligence trackers across assigned verticals
  • Lead quarterly reporting for assigned portfolio companies including KPI analysis and commentary
  • Represent the fund at conferences; own CI tracking and contribute to fund-level reporting

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • 3-7 years of post-graduate experience in venture capital, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or a relevant operating role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build financial models, conduct market analysis, and synthesize complex information into clear investment recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft polished memos and present findings with conviction
  • Self-directed with high ownership mentality; able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Prior experience in or deep familiarity with one or more of the fund's focus areas
  • Existing relationships within the venture ecosystem — founders, co-investors, accelerators, or corporate development tea
