Center for Tomorrow's Leaders internship -
AES Hawai‘i seeks a motivated, responsible intern to join our growing team. The successful candidate is self-motivated, well-organized, and comfortable managing different tasks, concepts, and challenges. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of Hawai‘i’s clean energy transition and to gain hands-on experience in the green economy sector. The primarily remote position will require the candidate to be based on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, and may require in-person site visits.
PRINCIPAL ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gains exposure to “green” career opportunities within the renewable energy sector and the corporate environment in Hawai‘i and beyond
Supports various teams, including the Hawaiʻi Market, project development, permitting, and community relations
Participate in additional skill-building opportunities
Attends on-site project tours
Participates in internal and/or external stakeholder outreach
Willingness/ability to travel to job sites and assist with hands-on work as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled in or graduated within the last six months from a college/university program related to business, engineering, environmental studies, planning, or a related field (preference will be given to local Hawai‘i residents)
Experience or demonstrated interest in the renewable energy industry
Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft applications
