Manual Lathe Operator 2nd Shift

Position Summary: 

Milacron is looking for a 2nd shift Manual Lathe Operator to join our team in McPherson, KS. As a Manual Lathe Operator you will be responsible for the set-up and operation of a variety of machinery to produce a large assortment of parts or finishes, often of a complex nature. 

2nd Shift M-F 4pm-12am, mandatory overtime including Saturdays as needed. Training 8am-4:30p at least 90 days

 

Work You’ll Do:

• Setup and operate a variety of machinery to blueprint specifications.
• Produce parts to the highest-level finishes and tolerances.
• Use various measuring tools and instruments for precision measuring.

• Move controls to set specified speeds, feed rates, and spacing between faces.

• Lifts and positions work piece manually or with a hoist and secures it on work rest.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications: 

• General computer skills 
• Knowledge and understanding of various measuring devices 
• Must be at least 18 years of age

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• blueprint reading experience preferred
• Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills and team player 
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shift, and weekends to ensure that the customer demand is met 
• Ability to learn new skills at a fast pace
• 1+ years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Basic math skills required, advanced preferred 
• High school diploma or equivalent
