The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work collaboratively to support clients and internal teams within complex multi-discipline engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a rich history in delivering mechanical design projects and a keen interest in design, construction, financials, contracts, and schedules. They will also support consulting/assessment services (Ex. Facility Condition Assessments), energy audits and other asset advisory services as needed. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will execute engineering design for a diverse range of building types facilitating client meetings, partnering closely with staff architects, electrical , mechanical and structural engineers, as well as contractors, installers, and utilities. The ideal candidate should have the ability to design new systems or find solutions for existing system upgrades.

Location for this role is Irvine, California or Southern California.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.

 

Core functions:

 

• The engineer will work directly on projects and be responsible for design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, plumbing systems, load calculations, Title 24 modeling, studies, energy audits, and construction administration, plan review, and plan check.
• This project-related work will also include the preparation of contract plans and specifications, cost estimates, technical reports/studies, proposals, and presentations.
• The engineer must be able to develop scopes of work, delegate assignments, manage scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
• The engineer will also potentially support and/or conduct consulting exercises such as facility condition assessments and navigate client solutions meetings.
• This role requires an ability to work on projects from concept stage through construction.
• The engineer will research, design, and provide construction document layout for mechanical design to meet client’s requirements in both large and small projects.
• They will consult on mechanical design for a wide range of projects and work with other engineers, architects, project managers, and construction professionals as needed to create and/or modify design parameters.
• The engineer will communicate directly with clients to understand project requirements, goals, design specifications, and operational environments in order to evaluate cost, feasibility, and implementation of mechanical design.
