JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Financial and Access Services Department team at UT Southwestern Medical Center has a new employment opportunity available for a Patient Financial Advisor II. The successful applicant will operate with limited oversight and guidance to provide financial counseling and clearance to patients that occur across two or more revenue locations. Your list of duties will include but is not limited to the following:
- Provide thorough explanations of billing statements.
- Ensure patients understand each charge and how it relates to the services rendered.
- Actively listen to and answer any questions patients may have about their bills.
- Address patient concerns regarding financial responsibilities for any upcoming services, making sure they are fully informed about what to expect.
- Guide patients step-by-step through various financial assistance programs available to them, including eligibility criteria, required documentation, and the application process.
- Offer personalized support to help patients access resources that can alleviate their financial burden.
- Efficiently process payments for upcoming services, as well as for any outstanding balances that patients may have.
- Ensure that payment options are clearly communicated, including methods for online payments, installment plans, and any other available payment solutions like UTSW financial assistance.
You will work on-site at one of our Dallas PFA office locations.
The shift will be 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required - Education
High School Diploma or
Associate's Degree or
Bachelor's Degree
- Experience
5 years of financial counselor or equivalent experience with High School Diploma. or
3 years of financial counselor or equivalent experience with associate's degree. or
1 year of financial counselor or equivalent experience with bachelor's degree.
