We are seeking a Senior Program Manager – A&E – Wireless, a strategic leadership role responsible for the overall performance, direction, and management of a multidisciplinary team including designers, project and program managers, drafters, and third-party subcontractor partners. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure the successful delivery of architecture and engineering (A&E) services across wireless telecom projects.
This person will oversee the full lifecycle of design services, including onsite data collection, utility coordination, macro and small cell tower designs, and telecommunications equipment compound layouts. They will regularly communicate with team members regarding technology upgrades, client specifications, project prioritization, design deliverables, quality control and assurance, and team financials.
In addition to managing resource allocation and project execution, this role partners closely with construction managers, engineers, CAD team members, and site acquisition personnel to streamline workflows from project award through construction completion. The Program Manager also plays a key role in business development, supporting client retention and identifying new opportunities in collaboration with internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship and guidance, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage the design team and the Engineering group by providing oversight, technical assistance and direct involvement in telecom carrier and BTS tower projects.
- Track and manage profit margins of the A&E and Engineering teams and create strategies to increase profit margins within specific projects and overall programs.
- Develop strategies to increase profitability.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations – Wireless to establish new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), improve existing SOPs and enhance efficiency.
- Track and manage the personnel needs of the A&E and Engineering groups including performance reviews and identifying training needs.
- Work with assigned AE team and RF engineers on wireless infrastructure modification or new build projects upon award.
- Complete drawing reviews for constructability ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of telecom design projects.
- Provide oversight, technical assistance and hands-on duties for telecom carrier and BTS tower projects.
- Hold final authority for granting approval of design team generated documents and deliverables prior to professional engineering stamping.
- Ensure project documents and design deliverables are accurate, constructable and delivered to clients on time.
- Negotiate and establish design documents and project deliverable timelines within company SOPs.
- Oversee the design process ensuring adherence to established SOPs for design and quality control redline checks.
- Review subcontractor drawings for completeness and potential redline corrections.
- Ensure design deliverables are provided in PDF and CAD format to clients as required.
- Work with the Director of Construction Management, the Senior Operations Manager – Wireless and Professional Engineer to stamp final approved design document deliverables as required.
- Ensure confidentiality of company information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in wireless telecommunications, construction or a related infrastructure construction domain, including overseeing large-scale, complex projects is required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage diverse project teams.
- Solid understanding of wireless network deployment (e.g., cell sites, towers, small cells) and related technologies.
