Job Description

  • Teach school psychology graduate courses and, as load permits, courses in the undergraduate psychology major. Teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: School Psychology Assessment and Intervention, School-based Family and Community Collaboration, Foundations of School Psychology, and additional courses related to area of expertise
  • As a credentialed school psychologist, supervise school psychology intern and practicum students
  • Deliver courses using a variety of methods, including traditional in-person, HyFlex, and asynchronous online commensurate with department and university needs
  • Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge in the field of school psychology
  • Contribute to advancing the goals of the department and university including focusing on student achievement, supporting diversity and fostering community engagement and school-based partnerships
  • Contribute to student growth and development, including student advising and research mentorship.
  • Support Minnesota State University Moorhead's strategic priorities of creating a campus that is academically distinct, equitable and inclusive, and engaged with the community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate (or ABD) in School Psychology or closely related field at start of employment
  • Demonstrated teaching skill and ability to teach Assessment and Intervention courses and additional courses in area of expertise
  • Eligibility for Minnesota Department of Education certification as a school psychologist
  • Evidence of scholarly activity and potential for research and mentorship
  • Evidence of successful collaboration with colleagues and students
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students of diverse backgrounds
  • Strong technology skills as needed for teaching, assessment, and supervision

Preferred Qualification 

  • Earned doctorate in School Psychology from a NASP accredited program.
  • At least two years of successful experience as a school psychologist in P-12 schools, with experience in MTSS, PBIS, or data-based problem solving
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level
  • Evidence of significant engagement in school psychology as a profession
  • Demonstrated commitment to involving student collaborators in research or applied projects
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse learning and working environment
  • Strong background in school-based social emotional learning
  • Strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis with the potential for certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Other Requirements

  • This is an in person/on campus position (not remote).
  • To be considered for tenure, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate: (1) ability to teach effectively and/or perform effectively in other current assignments, (2) scholarly or creative achievement or research, (3) evidence of continuing preparation and study, (4) contribution to student growth and development, (5) service to the university and community. (IFO Article 22, section B)
