Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing South Carolina (BSC), is looking for a 787 Electrical Design & Installation Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) with certification experience to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Position Responsibilities:                                                      

  • An experienced designer who understands all phases of the design process

  • Very organized to produce schedules and work with Electrical Design as well as external organizations throughout the program

  • Has knowledge of certification

  • Add appropriate regulations and means of compliance (as well as MOC discussion) with guidance from E-UM

  • Add functional hazard/system safety statement for each system-subsystem in the cert plan

  • Create delegation discussion for each system-subsystem in the cert plan

  • Create deliverables that will be used in the showing of compliance, which include appropriate regulations, means of compliance, and deliverable discussion

  • Develop schedule for CP submittal, deliverables, tests, and project closure

  • Add Test and Conformity information including test witness, location, key features of the conformity, and planned schedule

Work Authorization:

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • Experience in wire harness design, wire harness installation or equipment installation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Experience working in the aerospace industry

  • Knowledge of FAA and EASA regulations

  • Experience in Model-Based Definition (CATIA V5 or higher, Solidworks, Siemens, NX), ENOVIA, and PDM

  • Experience using all the Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to quickly adapt to program tools and procedures

Typical Education and Experience:

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work
