JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager at Greystar leads and manages the delivery of multiple projects/programs, ensuring they meet scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. This role also acts as an internal consultant, identifying challenges and collaborating with project leaders to implement effective solutions, particularly within corporate shared services at the enterprise level.The Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in translating strategic ideas into executable plans, defining success criteria, engaging the right stakeholders, and delivering outcomes that enable business adoption and value realization.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
- Review and manage project proposals, plans, and Greystar's project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with timeframes, funding, scope, and resource requirements.
- Provide leadership and motivation to project team members, holding them accountable for their activities and deliverables.
- Collaborate with external service providers or consultants to ensure successful project execution and provide updates to internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate alignment across cross-functional teams by clarifying roles and responsibilities, coordinating activities, and enabling effective decision-making.
- Conduct proactive risk assessment, management, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and remove roadblocks to maintain project momentum, and adapt project plans as challenges or new information emerge.
- Monitor project activities, ensuring quality and consistency in project information across the organization.
- Work with project leadership to establish and facilitate project governance, including a project steering committee.
- Serve as a consultative delivery partner, helping business leaders solve problems, not just manage tasks.
- Ensure project goals are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable business value.
- Translate strategic ideas into actionable roadmaps with clear success criteria and defined work components.
- Prepare status reports and modify schedules or plans as needed.
- Collaborate with leadership to optimize project delivery and governance.
- Partner with the change management team throughout the project lifecycle to support stakeholder engagement, communications, and adoption planning.
- Regularly review resource capacity and utilization, ensuring adequate project support.
- Partner with accounting for project budgeting and spend analysis.
- Actively set and manage project stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure effective handoff of completed projects to operational teams, supporting business transition and sustainability of outcomes.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions and document improvement opportunities to inform future project delivery.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred. Project management training and certification are desirable.
Experience
- Minimum seven years experience managing complex projects in matrixed organizations
- Five years of experience in management or technology consulting is required.
- Five years of experience managing non-IT projects is required.
- Experience in leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed diverse teams
