Essential Functions

• Primarily supports the overall technology needs for the administrative departments within the College of Engineering and Applied Science, along with faculty, staff, researchers and students of the academic departments.
• Hardware and software installation, with configuration and administration of end-user desktop and mobile computing devices.
• Troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves problems associated with the system hardware, operating systems, software / applications.
• Ensures compliance with security standards and practices to protect against system vulnerabilities by having a focus on remediation across the college.
• Oversee and participate in IT asset management, technology specifications and purchasing, email moderation, and audio-visual support.
• Provide advanced support for computing needs across administrative staff and faculty offices and research labs, supporting multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile devices.
• Participates in unit planning activities and resource allocation to ensure defined goals and objectives are coordinated appropriately.
• Collaborate with DTS and DTS CEAS IT teams to align technology support with academic teaching and research needs; communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain flexible work hours to support users outside of standard times and engage in research projects subject to ITAR regulations, requiring US citizenship or Green Card.
• Serves as team lead, providing supervision and guidance to other technical staff.  Responsible for reviewing and inspecting work of direct reports and other supervisory duties (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.)
• Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders, especially with faculty, researchers and students. Serves on committees and project teams.  Serves as an expert resource to others.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree

In Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Four (4) or more years of relevant experience.

• Experience should include administration of desktop technologies and a high level of experience with supporting hardware and software of varying technologies, of a company, agency or institution with more than 50 employees.
