Senior PHP/Laravel developer

As a Senior PHP/Laravel Developer for Sambla Group you will be responsible for building new robust and commercially viable applications capable of managing high traffic volumes. You will help us achieve our goals of renewing our current legacy stacks while staying commercially viable.

This is your opportunity to get experience with developing business driven web applications while building new complex solutions from scratch.

Experience

• 5+ years work experience within PHP based web applications as a developer or similar role, or proven experience showing that you have:
  • Strong technical understanding and experience. Can pick things up as they are and take responsibility for that.
  • Strong working experience with communication, understanding of business requirements and stakeholder management.
  • Working end to end with a larger project from planning to implementation.

Must haves

• Strong proficiency in PHP both with modern object oriented PHP as well as legacy PHP
• Strong Experience with Laravel and its ecosystems
• Strong working experience with mySQL or other relational databases
• Analytical approach with the ability to extract and analyse complex code and data
• Be a team player. We are a small team so communication and cooperation is key
• A good understanding of common software architecture principles
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with Python
• Familiarity with Linux based systems and hosting
• Familiarity with AWS services related to web hosting
• Experience with OPSEC specifically Blue teaming
• Full-stack development experience or a desire and ability to develop secondary skills in front-end technologies such as jQuery, typescript, React or VueJS
• Desire to learn and understand business requirements and stakeholder management
