Sr. Manager, Inbound Logistics

 

 

Job Purpose

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for the optimization of the inbound transportation from our suppliers to our distribution centers and supports various cross functional departments and suppliers with regards to planning, implementation, and execution of supply chain initiatives. This position will lead a team responsible for coordinating inbound freight to include tendering of loads to carriers and ensuring the service necessary to support service level goals for SEG. This position will be responsible for monitoring freight expense, identify areas for improvement, developing business cases, and managing the implementation of the corresponding improvement initiatives. This position has responsibility for the inbound logistics and outside freight lines of the Distribution P&L to minimize the impact of a subset of $5.0M to $7.5M of inbound freight costs (10% to 15% savings expectation).

Analyzes weekly and monthly reports to identify current and potential KPI shortfalls. Develops tools and management reports to improve financial processes and decisions through the use of fact-based information and analyses.

Establishes standards for SEG’s cross-dock programs, implements and monitors those standards, and holds cross-dock suppliers accountable to those standards.

Supports strategic sourcing team from a transportation perspective including bid evaluation and supplier on-boarding. Acts as liaison between national and own brand suppliers in resolving distribution related disputes with third party wholesale partners.
