About the role
Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Oncology Services Navigator. This grant-funded, part-time position offers concierge-level customer service to oncology patients and their referring providers. The individual in this role serves as a dedicated guide and point of contact for patients navigating the surgical and treatment journey, ensuring they receive clear, compassionate, and comprehensive support throughout the continuum of care.Oncology Services Navigator Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary liaison between patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team.
- Provide personalized, concierge-style support to help patients understand their care plan, including surgical processes, pre-operative and post-operative steps, and ongoing oncology treatment.
- Facilitate seamless communication between patients, providers, and support staff to promote coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families about appointments, timelines, necessary documentation, and procedures.
- Proactively identify and address potential barriers to care, offering resources and support as needed.
- Document patient interactions and maintain accurate, up-to-date records in accordance with organizational protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
- Minimum of 6 months' experience in a medical or healthcare setting strongly preferred
