Kitting Operations Manager

The Opportunity:
In this role, you will report to the Manufacturing Operations Director and will work closely with the Avantor’s Clinical Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
What we’re looking for :
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (and/or equivalent experience in supply chain/logistics operations management)
Experience: 5 plus years experience of operations management, preferably in a related industry
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing preferred.
Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as ratios, fractions, proportions, percentages, and volume
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Must effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work as a team player.
Must be able to effectively delegate, make decisions on imperfect information and to communicate and give and receive complex oral and/or written instructions.
Must be able to determine and carry out appropriate actions addressing employee disciplinary issues.
Work with high level of efficiency and confidentiality.

In this role you will:
Ensures products are scheduled and built in accordance with the needs of the kitting location.
Interacts with department supervisors in problem solving, decision-making, and personnel issues.
Manages department's safety procedures, hazardous waste, maintenance requirements, training programs, and storage facilities.
Define objectives of the department.
Maintains indirect kitting material needs and coordinates with purchasing to ensure requirements are met.
Maintains kitting procedures.
Evaluates department supervisors and reviews department personnel.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for kitting products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates kitting activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, kitting, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs to prevent operational delays.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Must be regular and punctual in attendance
Responsible for maintaining quality within the scope of the job description.
