Our Guilderland team is hiring for a Financial Center Manager!
Starting pay: $75-85k annualized, based on experience.
- Creates a sales culture in the financial center and reviews goals status with each employee weekly. Leads by example, cross selling all credit union services to qualified members; solicits business. Ensures all staff has proper training, is kept informed of current sales promotions and incentive programs. Maintains statistics on sales and reports trends and issues related to financial center and employee statistics periodically to the AVP of Financial Centers. Evaluates staff sales abilities and progress on an ongoing basis; recommends and schedules staff to attend appropriate sales skills training sessions; conducts one on one coaching and counseling sessions to improve staff sales performance.
- Provides general credit union lending information to members. Interviews loan applicants to inform members of current rates, policy requirements, and the lending services offered by the credit union. Receives loan applications in person and on the phone. Ensures that all financial center-generated loan applications are completed then reviewed to identify opportunities to build relationships, including credit bureau reports, with the intent of maximizing member relationships and cross sell opportunities.
- Oversees all phases of the daily operations, workflow and supervision of the financial center, including staff training, new employee orientation, interviewing, and staff Develops credibility by acting as a role model, providing leadership, and coaching staff toward appropriate behavior and job performance. Ensures employees have proper training and other resources to perform their jobs. Creates and maintains a high quality work environment where staff is motivated to perform at their highest levels. Makes recommendations in regards to hiring and salary adjustments when necessary.
- Addresses disciplinary and/or performance problems with financial center staff on a timely basis. Provides appropriate coaching, counseling, direction, and resolution, including the preparation and delivery of warnings and effective and appropriate decision making relative to supervision and corrective action. Keeps the AVP of Financial Centers informed regarding any unusual department, member or operational issues, and recommends possible solutions. Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication. Reviews and recommends procedure and process improvements when necessary.
- Learns and is proficient in all systems and processes to be used while serving members. This includes, but is not limited to Financial center Suite, X-Press Accounts, Meridian Link, Docusign and EZ Teller. Opens, services and closes all types of personal and business accounts. Meets with members to determine needs and recommends appropriate credit union services; supervises and processes of all types of transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, sharedrafts, verifies cash endorsements, and issues receipts in person.
- Solicits and develops business relationships by calling on and meeting with business/members at locations convenient to the business owners. Stays actively involved in Chamber or local business networking events to connect and become known as a resource by the local business community. Ensures staff is adequately educated regarding business deposit accounts and relationships, to ensure that staff is properly servicing the commercial accounts with Wow service.
- Handles unusual problems or situations concerning member's accounts.
- Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with overall policy; oversees periodic audits of cash drawers and procedures, maintains and balances ATM, ITM and TCR. Keeps staff informed regarding changes in policy or procedures affecting financial center operations. Responds to technical/operational questions from credit union staff and members and makes appropriate recommendations to the AVP of Financial Centers regarding possible solutions.
