Retail Productivity & Lean’ is a dynamic team focused on partnering with the Canadian branch network to identify and solution processes that improve the effectiveness of employees while enhancing the customer experience. We use Lean & Six Sigma methodologies which is about efficiency, moving information, and ideas through a process in a smooth, well-organized manner while removing waste and decreasing costs along the way.
 

This role is a part of the broader Retail Performance team (OMNI Channel Development, Advice and Service Effectiveness, Small Business) that is focused on ensuring the smooth daily operations and achieving Retail Distribution goals and objectives.
 

As the Senior Manager, Retail Productivity & Lean, you will lead the analysis and roll out several productivity improvement initiatives to various support groups within Retail Banking. You will have the opportunity to bring a level of knowledge to identify, evaluate and recommend improvements to organizational structure, process, and productivity.  The role spans activities from coaching individuals within the support areas, organizing and supporting opportunity review sessions, supporting critical diagnostics, supporting value stream mapping with large teams, developing future state design and potential benefits, to supporting implementations.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Support projects to identify opportunities for productivity improvement through Lean and Process Engineering of core competencies

  • Utilize various tools to support your work, including Time in Motion Analysis; Demand Flow and Capacity Analysis; Key Performance Indicators; Customer Demand Analysis (Voice of the Customer); Waste Analysis; Details Problem Solving; etc.

  • Complete management systems (i.e. whiteboards & huddles)

  • Lead end-to-end process assessment and design

  • Leverage technology such as RPA, SharePoint workflow, etc., maximizing usage of current Bank technology

  • Analyze business processes, develop hypotheses, synthesize findings, and communicate opportunities of improvement

  • Support the development of strategies and recommendations, including business benefits and costs, implementation, and training strategies

  • Work with business partners to develop pipeline of new projects for the team

  • Support change management activities within one or more program waves

  • Supporting training and workshops, provide consultation to the target business groups in implementing process improvement initiatives

  • Support the Director and team with various tasks as needed

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, business or related discipline

  • Six Sigma Black Belt / Lean certification required

  • MBA considered an asset

  • Several years of related experience in a business, financial or operations setting

  • Significant experience with business analysis, process improvement and project management methodologies having completed several projects in past positions

  • Experience in leading and supporting multi-stakeholder complex initiatives

  • Experience presenting recommendations, solutions and/or project statuses to management

  • A proven track record of meeting deliverables on time and within budget
