RN First Assistant

The Registered Nurse First Assistant employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills through the utilization of the nursing process to assist patients of various ages in achieving maximum health potential.  The Registered Nurse First Assistant functions as a health team member through independent, interdependent and dependent roles within the health care system.  Serving as the patient's advocate, the RNFA assumes responsibility and accountability for nursing care for patients of various ages as defined by the department scope of service.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or Proof of licensure by the state of California. 
• Coursework/Training: Completed an RNFA program that meets AORN recommended education standards for RN first assistant programs and is accepted by the Certification Board Perioperative Nursing (CBPN).
• California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• Acute care experience in the OR.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Recent RNFA experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
