The Materials Specialist plans, controls, and maintains proper inventory levels within the Franciscan Materials Management Information System (MMIS) supply location.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

• Travel between 3 pantry locations required (Crown Point, Michigan City, and Munster)

• Count and restock Fresh Start Market Food Pantry and Diaper Pantry locations weekly to maintain established PAR levels 

• Unload delivery trucks, check for damaged boxes, sign for parcels, deliver stock supplies to pantry locations and non-stock supplies to off-site facilities and community partner organizations, prepare parcels to be shipped out by courier 

• Fill and deliver departmental daily requisitions 

• Receive weekly stock orders, restock shelves, rotate supplies, and monitor expiration dates 

• Match packing slips with supplies received to ensure that correct quantities were received 

• Answer all incoming calls and assist end users as needed 

• Maintain clean supply areas 

• Perform weekly cycle counts of Community Health Improvement items 

• Prepare parcels to be shipped out by courier to expedite hospital supplies in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma/GED required  

• Supply Chain and Logistics certificate preferred  

• 3 years of Healthcare inventory management experience preferred
