We are seeking a CRC with excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working with medically complex and sensitive populations. Required qualifications include a BA/BS and/or MA/MS, strong writing skills, and solid quantitative skills. This position is ideal for individuals interested in Ob/Gyn, pediatrics/neonatology, psychiatry, or health psychology.
Core responsibilities include literature reviews; IRB and regulatory management; participant screening, recruitment, consent, and data collection (surveys, samples); data management and cleaning; electronic medical record review and extraction; and qualitative coding and analysis. The CRC will also have opportunities to assist with research dissemination, including conference attendance if desired.
With Dr. Grunberg, the CRC will assist with:
• NICHD K23 funded randomized clinical trial (RCT) testing a couples-based psychosocial intervention for parents of infants in the NICU, involving bedside recruitment, survey administration, regulatory coordination, and qualitative analysis.
• NCCIH R34 funded study that aims to develop a group psychosocial intervention for individuals with endometriosis-associated pain, involving recruitment in Ob/Gyn settings, assistance with focus groups, regulatory coordination, and qualitative data analysis.
With Dr. Herzberg, the CRC will assist with:
• NINDS R21 funded pilot study of a neuromonitoring device for newborns at risk for brain injury, focusing on data analysis and dissemination; and
• Industry funded RCT testing a peptide intervention for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), including recruitment, consent, sample handling, and regulatory coordination.
With Dr. Duncan, the CRC will assist with:
• Division of Newborn Medicine funded prospective cohort study examining the genetics of neonatal encephalopathy, involving participant screening and recruitment, biospecimen coordination, chart review, and regulatory coordination.
• Qualitative improvement study examining genetic testing practices in MGB NICUs, involving chart review and REDCap data collection on genetic consultations, with a subsequent phase focused on quality improvement initiatives to standardize care.
Job Summary
SummaryFollowing established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting phone interviews.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.

-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
