Key Role Details
This is a full-time paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June through August 2026.
Participation in the internship requires that you are located in the continental United States with in-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model, for the duration of the program
Interns will be evaluated for a full-time position within our rotational programs, with a start date one year following the completion of the internship.
At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, E-2, E-3, L-1 and O-1, or any EADs or other forms of work authorization that require immigration support from an employer).
Basic Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by August 2027 or earlier
For example: If you are graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in May 2026 and are also currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s degree program with an expected graduation date of May 2027, then your most recent full-time degree program is your Master’s degree
Must be continuing in the same course of study of your most recent full-time degree program following completion of the internship
Preferred Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or higher in a technical and/or quantitative discipline, including computer science, computer engineering, cyber security, information assurance, information systems, information technology, or mathematics
Understanding of cyber security concepts such as: operating systems analysis (MS Windows/MacOS) and network forensics (Kali Linux)
Knowledge of the basics of network security and protocols (e.g., encryption, firewalls, authentication, honey pots, perimeter protection)
Strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to explore multiple domains before specializing
Knowledge of cyber security principles, networking, operating systems, and security concepts
Coursework in IT fundamentals, cloud security, cryptography, network security, and/or data security
Knowledge of industry-standard cybersecurity frameworks (NIST Cybersecurity Framework, MITRE ATT&CK)
Hands-on experience or coursework in digital forensics (Kali Linux), malware analysis, or incident response
Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and conceptual skills
Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
Working level programming skills or experience in one or more of the following areas:Java, Python, C#, C/C++, JSON, SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripts)
