Job Description
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Electrician consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Installation & Maintenance
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Perform routine inspections of electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repairs.
- Install and maintain electrical panels, circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring systems.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company safety standards.
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures to prevent electrical hazards.
- Document repairs, maintenance tasks, and safety inspections.
Technical Work
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and work orders.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Install and repair control systems including motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
