JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Schuylkill Athletics, a member of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), is accepting applications for a Part-Time Assistant Women’s Flag Football Coach. This position provides assistance with leadership and oversight for the women’s flag football program at Penn State Schuylkill.

The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with all aspects of the women’s flag football program, including practice planning, competition coaching, student-athlete development, and recruitment of academically qualified student-athletes. The position primarily operates during the competitive season, with off-season responsibilities related to recruiting and program development.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist Head Coach with Program Leadership & Coaching

  • Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices and competitions.
  • Provide game day coaching and in-game decision-making.
  • Oversee player development, including athletic, academic, and personal growth.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and team-focused culture.
  • Provide vision and leadership aligned with Penn State’s values and athletics mission.

Assist Head Coach with Recruitment & Retention

  • Recruit, evaluate, and retain academically qualified and talented student-athletes.
  • Maintain consistent communication with prospective student-athletes and families.
  • Ensure recruiting efforts comply with PSUAC, USCAA, and NCAA Division III rules.

Assist Head Coach with Program Operations

  • Manage all day-to-day program operations under the direction of the Athletic Director.
  • Coordinate practice schedules and team activities.
  • Supervise team events and travel as assigned.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the Director of Athletics for weekly, seasonal, conference, and national awards.
