ABOUT THE TEAM
The Tactical Recon & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and all equipment to test, deploy and operate. The team is responsible for taking products like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt and Altius from paper sketches to operational systems. We work in close coordination with specialist teams to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers, hardware engineers, roboticists, and front-end mobile developers who are excited about creating a powerful robotics platform that can be tasked and viewed in real-time through a variety of interfaces.
We are looking for a Lead Firmware Engineer to join our team in Atlanta!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead/Manage the firmware engineering team for the small drones products within the TRS devision
- Lead the development of low-level firmware/software for microcontrollers, create reusable device drivers, integrate system-level features and architect changes to support an ever-growing codebase
- Quickly debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
- Review schematics with the electrical engineering team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on capability and ability to work in a scrappy, fast-paced environment
- BS or MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent industry experience
- Strong C coding ability for embedded systems
- Experience integrating microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors
- Experience developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments
- Solid understanding and application of coding best practices, board bring up and debugging
- Some familiarity with common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc.
- Experience running unit tests, nightly build hardware in the loop validations, static code analysis
- Experience operating and deploying Continuous Improvement Tools (ie. Jenkins, CircleCI, JFrog Artifactory) and automatic build environments (Ninja, Cmake, Makefiles, etc.)
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.)
- Debugging skills with JTAG, SWD, Oscilloscopes, and Logic analyzers
- Have a bias for action. If you see a problem, you want to solve and fix it
- Be naturally curious about the technologies and tools you use
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
