About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Wilmington, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Wilmington, CA
• Schedule: 6 hours, 1 session a week for 1.5 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Fluent in both English and Spanish, with experience delivering bilingual instruction.
• Experienced in working with students with autism and in special education settings.
• Skilled in teaching math, writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and handwriting.
• Patient, structured, and consistent, able to maintain a supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Creative, able to incorporate student interests into lessons to maintain motivation.
• Able to provide individualized, multi-modal instruction tailored to the student’s academic and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide bilingual instruction (English/Spanish) to support literacy, writing, reading, and math skills.
• Deliver structured lessons in foundational and grade-level math concepts, including fractions, 2D shapes, and multi-step problem solving.
• Support writing development, including grammar, sentence structure, organization, and handwriting.
• Reinforce reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and reading fluency.
• Implement consistent routines, reminders, and positive reinforcement to promote engagement and task completion.
• Use visual aids, manipulatives, and interactive activities to enhance understanding.
• Integrate student interests—such as video games, swimming, outdoor play, and music—into lessons to boost motivation.
• Collaborate with caregivers and support staff to align tutoring with ongoing SEL support and IEP goals.
• Conduct an initial assessment to identify academic needs and guide lesson planning.
