We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced User Interface (Front End) Architect to join our dynamic team in shaping the future of the ad tech industry. We believe that the foundation of high performing teams starts with a culture of ambition, compassion, diversity and perpetual learning.

As a User Interface Architect at Samsung Ads, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing front-end components and user experiences for our advertising platform. You will be responsible for ensuring our products are highly performant, modular, and visually engaging. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and other Architects from around the Globe to deliver innovative solutions to empower our clients in reaching their goals efficiently.

Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement modular front-end architectures, ensuring high performance, reliability, and a world class user experience.
  • Set and maintain high standards for code quality, code reviews, and coding best practices in collaboration with front-end teams.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and improve loading times.
  • Architect and modularize front-end codebases and pipelines to maximize reuse and the creation of a shared UI platform.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, back-end engineers, and data scientists to discover and define requirements that then become focused and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate across sites with peer Architects and Tech leads to influence global alignment and standards for UI.
  • Mentor and guide more junior engineers, including providing reference architectures and examples to help them grow in their careers and skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end technologies and best practices.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of front-end systems and processes.
  • Ensure robust testing and continuous integration to guarantee the reliability of our front-end applications and encourage collaboration across repos and avoid technical silos.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Generally requires a minimum 12 years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree, or 10 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 7 years experience.
  • Proven experience as a front-end developer and/or architect.
  • Experience building single-page applications (React+Typescript) with Restful and/or GraphQL APIs.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and front-end libraries and frameworks.
  • Proven expertise in test automation for front-end applications and ability to author tests in a framework such as Jest.
  • Strong architecture and design skills.
  • Proficiency with Git and front-end build tools like Webpack, NPM, NX build.
  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibilities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in ad tech industry.
  • Experience building micro-frontend applications with module federation.
  • Experience building libraries of reusable UI components.
  • Experience with Material UI and/or Storybook.
  • Experience with Stencil, Cypress, PostgreSQL, Jira, and Confluence,

CALIFORNIA ONLY

Compensation for this role is expected to be between $230,000 and $260,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
