Robb Report: Marketing Director, Membership Growth and Strategy

The Marketing Director, Membership Growth and Strategy, is a senior role responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies aimed at driving membership growth and retention for Robb Report’s private membership club, RR1. This role involves crafting innovative marketing campaigns, analyzing market trends, identifying and solidifying new partnerships and implementing effective membership programs that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
Please note that this position is for a fixed 12-month period with an option to renew for an additional 12 months and can be based in either NYC or Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for membership growth, focusing on attracting new members and increasing member retention.
- Identify target audiences and develop data-driven strategies to reach and engage potential members.
- Create and manage a membership growth roadmap with clear objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and timelines.
- Lead the development of marketing campaigns designed to drive membership acquisition and engagement.
- Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including advertisements, email campaigns, social media content, and promotional events.
- Manage the marketing budget for membership growth initiatives, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Develop and implement membership programs and incentives that enhance value for members and encourage new acquisition.
- Analyze membership data to identify opportunities for program enhancements and new initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure membership programs are aligned with overall organizational objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges related to membership growth.
- Analyze competitor strategies and market conditions to inform and adjust marketing tactics.
- Prepare reports and presentations on membership growth metrics, campaign performance, and market insights.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals focused on membership growth and strategy.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging creative thinking and effective problem-solving.
- Set performance goals for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Develop strategies to improve member satisfaction and engagement through effective communication and value-added services.
- Implement retention strategies to reduce churn and increase member loyalty.
- Organize events, webinars, and networking opportunities to foster community among members.
- Ensure that all marketing efforts align with the organization’s brand identity and messaging.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including members, partners, and industry influencers.
- Oversee public relations efforts related to membership growth and manage media relations.
- Track and report on key metrics related to membership growth, campaign effectiveness, and program success.
- Use data analytics to evaluate the impact of marketing strategies and make informed decisions for future initiatives.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress towards membership growth goals.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role focused on membership growth, customer acquisition, or similar functions.
- Proven track record of successfully managing marketing campaigns and programs aimed at membership or customer growth
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft compelling marketing messages.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost-effective marketing planning.
- Proficiency with marketing tools and platforms, including CRM systems, email marketing software, and social media management tools.
- Ability to analyze market data and trends to make strategic decisions.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development
Typical wage range: $115k - $135k
