Paid Bi-Weekly

 

All SCNA's working 2nd or 3rd shifts are eligible for a .50¢ per hour shift differential.

 

This position may include a sign-on bonus of $1,000.  The sign-on bonus will be paid out equally over one year at 6-months installments. There is no guarantee of payment unless you complete the term of employment. If you leave prior to completion of the term, you are owed nothing by the agency and the recoupment of any previously paid bonus amount will be at the Agency’s discretion. Any employee moving to OPS prior to that timeframe will forfeit any ‎additional bonus.  Returning employees must have left the Agency ‎for a period of 12 months or more to be ‎eligible for the sign-on bonus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License
• Must be willing and able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
• Must have basic computer skills
• Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in long-term care or 120 bed skilled nursing facility‎
• High school diploma or GED

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent for the Senior Certified Nursing Assistant (SCNA) position is responsible to provide direct nursing care to residents of the State Veterans’ Nursing Home of Florida, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with facility policies and procedures.  Incumbent will assist with all aspects of resident care as assigned by the shift supervisor, including activities of daily living, ambulation, and mobility in facility.  Respond promptly and courteously when answering call lights.  Observe, identify, and report resident concerns or needs to the shift supervisor. Complete assignments timely, completely, accurately and in a cooperative manner. Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service and FDVA policies and procedures.

 

• Provide the necessary assistance when giving residents the following activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming, hair, and nail care, shaving, toileting, eating and drinking, and mobility
