Purpose
The new position was created to successfully implement the FIS in Faculty Affairs. Position approved by EVPP leadership.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of a new faculty information system (FIS) in collaboration with provost office leadership, the Academic Information Systems (AIS) team, campus stakeholders, and the FIS vendor.
- Coordinate and attend requirements gathering and design sessions, document business rules and system requirements, and develop recommendation documents based on stakeholder needs, best practices, and system functionality.
- Configure, test, and validate recommended solutions. Develop process and procedure documentation, diagrams, matrices, and workflows based upon configuration and testing outcomes.
- Lead the development of a robust FIS training program, including creating guidance materials for campus stakeholders and organizing in-person training sessions for colleges and schools.
- Proactively communicate stakeholder needs to vendors and system developers. Promote the importance of needed product changes. Actively research and analyze system functionality, roadmaps, and upcoming feature releases to best prepare campus stakeholders for change impacts and process improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Training and experience in a business analyst role, typically achieved through a bachelor's degree and more than two years of experience in performing the work of a business analyst for administrative systems.
- More than two years of experience gathering requirements, and documenting and testing complex technical processes.
- More than two years of experience developing and documenting requirements, recommendations, workflows, training materials, and presentations for implementation projects and/or administrative systems.
- Experience in some aspect of delivering successful projects.
- Experience managing automation projects
- Ability to work across organizational units to achieve goals.
- Experience with performing data analysis and/or data validation.
- Ability to understand and configure vendor systems.
- Exceptional analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Self-managed and highly motivated with a strong drive for delivering high quality results.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with more than three years of experience performing the work of a business analyst for administrative systems.
- Experience with a faculty information system.
- Experience with HR processing at a higher education institution.
- Experience with UT Austin administrative systems, faculty affairs and HR processes
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experience working with a variety of groups and organizational levels.
- Experience with business process modeling.
Salary Range
$70,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
- May work in standard office conditions.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
- May have to climb stairs occasionally.
- This position is located in Austin, TX and is in person full-time

Work Shift
Full-time, in person Monday - Friday. Hours and days may vary due to business needs
