Certified CS/SPD Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining surgical and hospital tools. In this position, you help ensure patients have the best possible healthcare experience by providing caregivers with safe and sterile equipment. A caregiver in this position works weekdays, onsite 3:00pm-11:00pm.

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.  

• Perform case pull functions.  

• Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures.  

• Build case carts ensuring adherence to procedures.  

• Dispatch case carts to ensure availability for surgical/clinical procedures.  

• Perform record keeping, ordering, stocking and inventory control.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• High School Diploma or GED 

• Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) or Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• 2-5 years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas 

• Successful completion of recognized training program with certification in Central Service/Sterile Processing
