Emergency Medicine Assistant Medical Director - Physician - Mount Sinai Queens - Astoria, NY

The Department of Emergency Medicine seeks Assistant Medical Director to join our Mount Sinai Queens staff.  Position is full-time located at MSQ site in Astoria, NY.

The Mount Sinai Emergency Medicine Department is one of the largest in the country. Our faculty staff the hospitals within the Mount Sinai Health System (the Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Queens, Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai Brooklyn, Mount Sinai South Nassau, as well as affiliated hospitals including Elmhurst Hospital Center, Queens Hospital Center, and Richmond University Medical Center. The Emergency Medicine Service Line has almost 300 faculty, more than 100 physician assistants, and treat more than 750K patients annually. The Department is ranked number 3 in research funding from the National Institutes of Health, is home to 2 emergency medicine residencies, 11 fellowships (including one in Pediatric Emergency Medicine), and is affiliated with 2 pediatric residencies.

• Assists the ED Medical Director and Leadership team in the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department. 
• Provides professional and administrative guidance and support to staff. 
• Evaluates operations and identifies possible improvement internal and external. 
• Advises and Informs Director and leadership team concerning administrative issues, needs and problems of the staff. 
• Assists in the identification process changes for continuous improvements for greater efficiency. 
• Collaborates with leadership to develop short and long-range plans. 
• Serves as primary point-of-contact person for interdepartmental communications where applicable in order to maintain standards and meet objectives. 
• Plans and organize events and services to meet department goals. 
• Schedules and participates in interviews as needed. 
• Collaborates with colleagues as an integral part of a health system.

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University; MBA or related degree a plus    
• Current New York Medical License 
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine
• Clinical and Administrative experience preferred
• Excellent communication, bedside manner and organizational skills
• A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance driven Health System

Compensation range from 300K to 330K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
