Senior Software Engineer, iOS, Edge ML

ABOUT THE ROLE

The AI/CV team is working on powering products that incorporate computer vision into the fitness domain. We are looking for a Software Engineer to drive the development of ML systems on iOS platforms. The role will involve working closely with ML and Systems Engineers to ensure the success of ML applications on device, defining processes for packaging and deploying ML projects, and guiding the team on best practices for managing multi-dependency modules.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

• Build and evolve state-of-the-art systems to accelerate the deployment of Peloton’s ML models on Edge computing platforms.
• Contribute to the implementation of ML algorithms and inference pipelines. 
• Work with ML and Systems Engineers to establish processes, build tools, and automation for the tracking and deployment of ML systems.
• Conduct system profiling, performance and resource usage analysis to identify limitations and enhance efficiency.
• Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for assessment and improvements.
• Establish testing frameworks for evaluating the functional and unit testing of the machine learning systems.

YOU BRING TO PELOTON

• Experience developing software for consumer products on Mobile SoCs, specially for ios devices.
• Familiarity with Core ML, Apple's framework for deploying machine learning models on iOS devices.
• Familiarity with Camera pipeline on iOS devices.
• Hands-on experience with C/C++/Objective-C/Swift, and Multi-threaded applications.
• Experience working in a CI/CD environment and git.
• Experience with Model Compression techniques (Quantization, Pruning, Distillation)
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 

BONUS

• Experience with Tensorflow Lite, or other similar Edge Inference frameworks.
• Experience with compute offloads to GPU, DSPs, etc. 
• Experience with profiling and tracing tools.
• Experience developing Deep Learning models, especially for Detection, Tracking, Sequential modeling, Transformers and Few-Shot Learning tasks

Base Salary: $199,200.00  to $258,800.00

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
