Compensation We Offer

  •  The initial compensation for this position ranges from $38.16 - $46.93 per hour.
  •  Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the minimum qualifications for the role and internal equity considerations.
  •  The salary may also vary if you reside in a different location than the location posted. 
  •  8% License Differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD. and select Peer Certifications.*
  •  7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions*
    • must meet company policy eligibility requirements.

About our Program:  CSU: The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a 23hr 59min hospital diversion program available for children on a 5150 "hold" or involuntary commitment. The CSU provides services to children experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency.
Services provided include a comprehensive risk assessment by a clinician, as well as assessments by psychiatrists and nurses. Additionally, there will be recommendations for after care planning, referral to outpatient services, and if needed, post crisis stabilization services (PCSS) for ongoing mental health services.
 

Work Schedule: On Call 

JOB SUMMARY

Works within the vision, mission and philosophy of the agency. Is responsible for the general medical and psychiatric care of youth. Applies practical nursing techniques and follows standard practices in caring for youth including recognizing typical patterns or symptoms. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Assists the staff RN and Psychiatrist in the implementation of nursing processes in the agency, implementing youth’s medical treatment plan and medication orders.
  2. Conducts both medical and psychiatric screening in the context of a mental health crisis, with children presenting as a danger to themselves or others
  3. Coordinates, schedules, and oversees all pediatric medical treatment of youth within  programs. This includes crisis response, de-esculation and if needed the initiation of higher level behavioral restraint interventions. 
  4. Admits and discharges youth, including completing health assessments using body charts, monthly vital signs, physical assessments, and determines physiological status. 
  5. Monitors and implements the systems of care delivery for pediatric nursing / medical activities and pharmacological care. 
  6. Schedules medical, dental and laboratory appointments considering medical requirements, service and transportation schedules. 
  7. Schedules external psychiatric appointments and follows-up as delegated by attending psychiatrist.
