The Governance Discipline is a small team of senior governance, regulatory and control experts who work within and alongside BBH’s asset servicing for global asset managers and banks division (i.e., Investor Services’ Service Delivery division) to ensure a consistent approach to governance, regulatory and control matters. The team develops, recommends, implements, and communicates policy, strategy and guidelines aimed at improving service and mitigating risks.
The team sits within the Service Delivery Chief Administration & Transformation Office and is accountable for a variety of horizontal initiatives, including acting as lead for Service Delivery on risk and market events, regulatory developments, new products and services, assurance matters and change events.
The Regulatory Lead will drive more effective decision making and handling of regulatory change across SD. The Regulatory Lead will drive the development and implementation of an enhanced governance framework around regulatory change that promotes transparency, consistency, accountability within and across Service Delivery. The Regulatory Lead is responsible for oversight of the execution under that governance framework.
The Regulatory Lead will work with internal leaders within Service Delivery to gain buy-in on an enhanced governance, regulatory and control framework and oversee development and implementation of the approach across Service Delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Governance
Proactive monitoring of regulatory developments impacting SD
Effective leveraging of existing resources, including Inserv Regulatory Intelligence Group, OGC, Compliance, Risk and Product leads
Provide US expertise and coverage
Industry Engagement
Ensure approach to regulatory developments across SD is transparent and effective
Drive/ assist in decision making around regulatory developments as SD opportunities
Enhance communication on SD approach to regulatory change
Create/ Assist in creation of governance materials needed for regulatory developments
Collaboration with CAO and Transformation leadership to ensure effective decision making on regulatory change for SD, including on topics of:
o Governance
o Risk and Control
o Workforce / Human Resources
o Global Business Integration
o Change Management
o Business Transformation
o Strategic Alignment and Financials
Assessment / Analysis
Lead /assist on assessment of impact/opportunity of regulatory developments
Internal coordination with stakeholders (SD Operations and Product leads, RE, GCS, ERM, OGC and Compliance)
Coordinate with New Service Working Group and others on requests for new products, services stemming from regulatory change
