Description
Allied Metals, LLC is a wholesale buyer of metals in Miami, Florida. We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Plant Staff Accountant to assist in managing all aspects of our facility.
Position Summary:
The Plant Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting within the facility. This will include office management, Human Resources duties, Payroll, and Vendor communications.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Monthly Financial Reporting
· Balance sheet and P&L reported to GM/CFO
· Report actuals against budget to the Board monthly.
· Balance sheet and P&L submitted to bank monthly.
· Account reconciliations prepared and reviewed monthly.
· Budget to actual with variance analysis performed.
· Other monthly reporting and KPI tracking to be developed with GM/CFO
Treasury Management
· Daily draw requests and ensuring payments are issued on time.
· Rolling monthly cash flow projection reported to CFO.
· Monthly borrowing base update reviewed with CFO and submitted to Bank.
· Debt interest/principal payments and covenant tracking on an actual as well as projected basis
Customer/Supplier Billing Management
· Ensuring timely provisional billings and final billings with both our customer and supplier
· Cash flow management with both customer and supplier
· Trading and finance fee calculation and communication with supplier on a quarterly basis
Inventory Management
· Establishing and managing a cycle count program for inventory with results documented, maintained, and discussed with GM/CFO throughout the year.
· Ensuring inventory costing is appropriate.
Other
· Managing costs with each department, establish a mechanism to monitor expenses each month and meet with department leads to understand costs incurred.
· Daily/weekly reporting of inventory receipts, production, shipping volumes and reporting out to GM/CFO/purchasing team.
· Daily/weekly reporting of inventory on hand, projected surplus/shortage based on receiving and production volumes, reporting out to GM/CFO/purchasing team.
· Ownership of ERP system processes and security
· Continuous improvement mindset with all aspects of operational and financial processes
· Open communication with GM/CFO with regularly scheduled team meetings
· Coaching and monitoring performance of admin/accounting clerk(s)
· Lead person on requests from bank auditors, external auditors, and any other compliance tasks.
· Process weekly Payroll.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
· Excellent communication, rapport and follow-through with all departments.
· An analytical mindset
· A solid understanding of technology
· Good management/leadership skills
· Knowledge of all aspects of US GAAP and, where a knowledge gap exists for any area of accounting guidance, she/he must have a curious mindset to develop in those areas.
· Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
· 10+ Years experience as a Controller.
