College Aide, (1st Year Grad)

PROGRAM AND JOB DESCRIPTION:

The mission of the Bureau of Environmental Disease and Injury Prevention is to prevent environmental disease and injury in homes, communities, and the workplace, and to protect health by promoting healthy environments and health equity. The Bureau is comprised of five Programs - Healthy Homes, Office of Environmental Investigations, Environmental Exposure Assessment and Education, Poison Control Center, and Injury and Violence Prevention.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

Follow-up and investigate reported foodborne disease complaints identified via social media and reported to the citywide complaint system (311); conduct telephone interviews using a standardized questionnaire - Outbreak investigations

Data collection, data entry, data management, and data analysis

Other disease investigations within the Office of Environmental Investigations and Bureau of Communicable Disease where necessary

Miscellaneous projects as needed.

Preferred Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interest in infectious disease epidemiology and environmental health
Ability to multi-task
Currently enrolled in a graduate (MPH, MS or PhD) program in public health or related field; Incoming students encouraged to apply.
