The Enhanced Polar System Control and Planning Segment (EPS CAPS) and EPS-R Payload Sustainment program (ECPS) is seeking to add a Deputy Integrated Product Team (IPT) Site Mission Sustainment and Site Manager Lead – Manager 2.

This leadership position will be based in Colorado Springs, CO and Schriever Space Force Base, CO. The Site Mission Sustainment Deputy IPT and Site Manager Lead will report to the Site Mission Sustainment IPT Manager and ECPS Program manager.

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Responsible for technical team performance of daily on-site mission sustainment scope and activities for ECPS program  
  • Manage, track, and report earned value metrics as a Control Account Manager (CAM) of all site mission sustainment performance work statement activities within the IPT, to include labor and material (subcontractor labor) control accounts 
  • Provide direct ECPS program representation to the USSF customer and EPS mission owner on site at Schriever SFB, CO  
  • Prepare for and support monthly program reporting rhythm by providing technical and programmatical briefings to USSF in a multi-disciplined environment 
  • Manage 24/7 technical staffing in collaboration with the IPT leadership team to ensure sufficient staff levels and appropriate skillsets are available to execute the sustainment performance work statement 
  • Perform risk and opportunity management, to include developing and tracking mitigation plans 
  • Provide long-term mission sustainment technical assistance to site depot sustainment teams and to Operations & Maintenance Contractor personnel 
  • Provide peer review of technical products and artifacts generated by the site mission sustainment team prior to customer review 
  • Coordinate engineering reach back support to the factory Ground System and Payload teams to resolve critical technical issues or spacecraft anomalies affecting operations and/or mission availability of the EPS payloads 
  • Working with the Site Mission Sustainment IPT and Depot Manager, ensure adequate on-site engineering support at all EPS Operational Locations, to include deployment of engineering support 
  • Coordinate export compliance activities to ensure continued collaboration with the Arctic Satellite Broadband (ASBM) mission  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience.  
  • Demonstrated experience with ASBM/EPS Ground System architecture and EPS/EPS-R Payloads 
  • Demonstrated experience in Direct Mission Customer interaction and must possess excellent communication skills 
  • Must have an Active DoD Top Secret/SCI at the time of application and currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation
  • Must be able to obtain Basic Restricted ACCESS BADGE to Schriever Space Force Base, CO 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Direct USAF/USSF Space Operations experience 
  • Experience in collaboration with other technical leads (SEIT, Product Support, Test) and external US Government stakeholders in a team-oriented environment 
  • Experience with USSF and USAF Acquisition and sustainment customers 
  • Willing to travel to OCONUS and CO
