What you get to do in this role:    

  • Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (code reviews, unit testing, etc.). 

  • Work closely with the technical program managers and product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality products to our users. 

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features  

  • Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing 

  • Create technical documentation and communicate technical concepts to both non-technical business users and technical stakeholders 

  • Resolve vulnerabilities identified in code scans 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have: 

  • 8+ years of experience with Python 

  • 6+ years of Linux (Ubuntu or Debian) 

  • Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes (i.e., Helm, deployment patterns, best practices) 

  • Extensive experience with microservice–oriented architectures 

  • Excellent understanding of software engineering best practices 

  • Excellent technical design, problem-solving, debugging skills, and an aptitude for learning new technologies 

  • Knowledge of system design and performance/scale considerations 

  • You enjoy coordinating with others to ensure complex engineering projects are done well. 

  • Proven ability to operate in a lead software engineer role on complex development projects. 

  • Experience with Agile software development and knowledge of DevOps best practices 

  • Familiarity with building continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to build, test, and deploy container images 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
