Job Overview:

The Bloomingdale’s Holiday Gift Ambassador’s primary role is to guide and inspire our customers by helping them shop for the perfect gift. The ambassador will help facilitate the Holiday shopping experience for the customer, starting with a warm greeting in our holiday gift shop, listening to and understanding the customer’s needs, and then guiding them to the perfect gift and connecting them with a selling colleague.  They will deliver the Bloomingdale’s customer experience through their passion for gracious service, an interest in getting to know the customer and interacting with all guests, and a keen eye for fashion and product excellence. Holiday Gifting ambassadors will be experts on the holiday gift shop and educate other colleagues (via 1:1 conversation, partnership with floor managers, or presenting morning rallies) on key items and styles.  This role is for someone that is a gift giver extraordinaire, loves to connect with others, and can see their positive energy contributing to making Bloomingdale’s the ultimate gift giving destination for our customers.

 

Essential Functions:

• Effectively and professionally communicate with customers for a seamless and fun shopping experience. 
• Drive sales with in-store and virtual clients through technological proficiency and product expertise. 
• Participate in the merchandising and operational requirements of the role. 
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Can take initiative, works well independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.

 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years related experience.

 

Competencies:

• Become proficient in Bloomingdale’s Point of Sale systems.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong sense of urgency.
• Proven ability to build cross functional relationships across stores and the organization.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality required.
• Able to work independently. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department.
• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color vision.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions. 
• Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs.
