Steam Boarding Machine Operator (1st shift: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.) - $18.75/hour

Sigvaris is currently looking for Steam Boarding Machine Operator to join our team in Peachtree City, GA.  As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products.  We are a global team on a mission to help people feel their best.  Reporting directly to the Supervisor, the Steam Boarding Machine Operator is responsible for efficiently operating the Steam Boarding machines following set procedures and work instructions.

SHIFT:

     • 1st:  6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PAY PLUS BONUSES:

     • $18.75 per hour with an increase every six months during the first year of employment plus shift differential

     • Opportunity to earn $100 Attendance Bonus payments per quarter.*

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     • Properly place and align multiple types of products onto aluminum forms to give product aesthetic appeal.

     • Rotate/change forms to ensure each product is boarded on the correct form size.

     • Stage products in 6S locations after completion of boarding process.

     • Monitor machine settings and programming to ensure that products are boarded on the correct program.

     • Keep boarding forms clean, checking for roughness between each form/shift change.

     • Help train new personnel as well as cross training employees.

     • Work toward meeting all production goals set by Planning and the quality goals set by Management.

     • Perform all miscellaneous duties as they pertain to position.

     • Maintain a safe work environment by following set procedures and safety instructions.

     • Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out work instructions and set procedures.

     • Keep area clean as it pertains to 6S company and departmental goals.

     • Ensure that all things are in their proper place and that all 6S labels are visible and not worn.

     • Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.

          o Interacts with external and internal customers in a timely manner conducive to continued positive relationships.

          o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.

     • Demonstrates effective communication methods.

          o Supervisor and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.

     • Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, and Federal, State and local laws.

     • Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.

     • Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.

     • Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.

Requirements

EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE:

     • A high school diploma or equivalent education and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job operates in a manufacturing environment.  This role routinely uses boarding operating machines.

     • Regularly required to sit or stand for long periods of time.

     • Ability to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb.

     • Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 25 pounds).

     • Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.

     • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.

     • Tolerance for heat

AUTHORITY TO MAKE DECISIONS (AS IT PERTAINS TO JOB RESPONSIBILITIES):

     • To stop machines when producing bad quality

     • To scrap products having bad quality

     • To stop any machines that are not performing its safety functions
