Job Summary

Under general supervision, is responsible and accountable for performance of a line or cell and performs a wide range of assembly operation on parts using sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners, and pack in designated carton according to customer specification sheet and company policies.


Essential Job Functions

  • Proficient in assembly of windshields, doors, sub-assemblies and accessories to set parts per hour
  • Promotes “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensures staff are following safety procedures/guidelines
  • Lead by example and in alignment with company core beliefs and values
  • Foster an environment of trust, collaboration, accountability and service to our team and community
  • Performs necessary quality checks on product prior to assembly and escalates issues to Value Stream Team Leader (VSTL)
  • Verifies stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners per the job traveler
  • Confirms proper functionality of power/hand tools prior to use
  • Identifies assembly and packing problems, reports problems to VSTL for assistance
  • Assists with the maintenance of tools and equipment used for manufacturing product
  • Utilizes design documentation and verbal or written instructions to assemble, rework or reassemble units
  • Leads set up of work stations including staffing decisions within the line/cell and daily documentation
  • Verifies products are assembled to quality and job specifications
  • Responsible for overall set up of work stations and maintaining the necessary tools/equipment needed
  • Trains, assists and provides work direction including verbal feedback to other employees within the line/cell.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Team Leader on employee performance feedback
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate at all levels of the organization, including but not limited to, delivering metrics and pertinent company communications to line/cell team on a daily basis
  • Responsible for logging assemblers into proper job function in Epicor software and completing daily documentation as required
  • Reports daily progress and communicates necessary information to following shift
  • Ability to complete the first part approval process for all jobs
  • Ensures team meets or exceeds set standards per job and requests assistance as needed
  • May assist in machine operating (CNC, VAC, Drape, Screen Print) as needed
  • Subject Matter Expert in the line/cell and ability to share knowledge with others
  • Work within lean manufacturing guidelines
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Support culture and maintain a strong focus on housekeeping and 5s within the line/cell

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3 years assembly/manufacturing experience highly preferred, experience with utilizing ERP/MRP preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask is essential
  • Experience leading small groups required
  • High level of emotional intelligence including interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with a team
  • Willingness to move between buildings, shifts and other lines/cells within the company to expand knowledge.
  • Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions
  • Ability to fulfill essential duties and understand /follow directions using the English language


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull on a continuous and repetitive basis
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools
  • Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Ability to consistently wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels
