General Manager

Midwest Sports+ is seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead our new sports streaming business. This is a unique opportunity to shape a brand from the ground up, driving innovation, performance and growth across the Upper Midwest. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, a proven track record of operational excellence, and a passion for delivering high-quality sports coverage to audiences across digital and broadcast platforms.

As General Manager you will oversee all operational aspects of Midwest Sports+, including budget development, technical oversight, audience and revenue growth, community engagement and team leadership. You'll play a key role in developing advertising and market partnerships and creating a collaborative, high-performance culture. This position requires strong business acumen, a deep understanding of digital media and broadcasting, and a genuine enthusiasm for building community connections through local sports. 

Midwest Sports+, a leader in high school sports broadcasting in South Dakota and Iowa, is out to connect viewers across all platforms, creating a destination for fans, families, and athletes alike with high-quality sports content and streaming, and are a part of Forum Communications Company. The ideal candidate will be based in or around Sioux Falls, SD, though strong candidates from elsewhere in the Dakotas, Iowa, or Minnesota will be considered. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Direct and manage the overall operations of Midwest Sports+ to drive results including sales goals and objectives, audience, profit, expansion, and operating income.
• Develop operating budgets for the departments within Midwest Sports+
• Collaborate with executives to oversee the 24/7 broadcast and technical requirements of Midwest Sports+
• Drive business and partnership development efforts to further group goals, including but not limited to, advertising partnerships and expansion into new markets.
• Identify and implement efficient approaches to operations and processes throughout Midwest Sports+
• Represent Midwest Sports+ in the communities it serves to develop and maintain strong relationships and partnerships; seek out opportunities to contribute to the local markets for the betterment of the communities.
• Develop and retain a strong leadership team, providing guidance and coaching to maximize team performance.
• Execute corporate policies and objectives while maintaining the highest level of ethics and industry standards.
• Establish and maintain an innovative and highly collaborative culture atmosphere that promotes idea generation, open communication, and respect for team members.
• Create a diverse, collaborative, fun, and stimulating work environment.

 

Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000 and $80,000/year base salary, plus performance bonus incentives, based on qualifications and experience.
